Lost Carnival

Our minds are still young and shapable. We lack many things. We do not have the insight that our elders hold.
I sit here and listen to those around me. Noticing that we are shy, quiet. Assuming we are wrong before we even let out a voice. The way we think is lacking. We are dreamers, no; we are loosing our ability to dream. When these people around me close their eyes their minds do not light up into a carnival of ideas. When they sleep no longer do paths appear to wisp them away on journeys of things to come. They must remember or our generation is lost forever. We are not children, yet we are not adults; we are not one of the two.
