The Beggining of Our End

We all want to start, we all want to see what it will look like when we are done. Each morning we think of how this day will become another step closer to beginning, how this day will become another step closer to finishing. We role out of bed with this in mind, we are consumed by this thought, this idea.
We wake thinking of how to start our day, whether we should walk, jog or run, eat fruit, fried eggs or cereal, start a a job, a career, or the after life. As we are going through life we have this idea that we have to start something big, start something that will end our lives with a point, that one and only "purpose" as most refer to it as. Our daily actions are only driven by our want to leave our mark within society.
A student can not wait until he or she is done school to get into the real world, or in some cases a student can wait and enjoys the postponed adult hood, as I call it, that is offered by post secondary education. However, the student in either case is still going through the starting point, the beginning of what will be their end. The student studies and then graduates to gain the pre-requisites needed for their future goals in life. These goals are what they have set to push themselves and succeed in life. They are so motivated to start this journey that will lead them straight to the end, and they are more then willing to do this, to take these steps. They jump off a bridge with perfect vision, gazing at the jagged rocks below; each one smiling. How can this be? How can such a fresh mind be so willing to hurry their end? They want so much to leave a mark on the world that they end up sacrificing themselves.
A career driven worker for all the businesses that offer promotions. Each one of these, each one of you, go through the grids of transportation to reach a place that makes you depressed so that you have a better chance at making the money that you crave, getting that bonus, the addition on the house, the cottage on the lake. Somehow this rushing makes them happy and allows them to enjoy what it is they are earning. Ask yourself if you are enjoying it. They strive so hard to push themselves further to the edge of oblivion. Each morning they wake and jump at the sound of the gun to start so that they can ever faster reach the end. Just think, the job will end, and come to a grinding halt but so will the heart that floods your veins with life.
These starting points that we are all so eager to line up at are drilled into our heads that they will bring us happiness in the end. The end which seems to be retirement at the age of 65. How is it that we are no longer able to slow down and live what we have at the time? So many of the people around us start their days with the thoughts of ending them burning and pulsing their motives into action. They want to start their life so that they can sit back and relax after they have a nice little nest egg to relax on. We need to let go of this ideology and re-invent our society in so many different ways. Start by living your life day by day, no longer should you sit and dream of that retirement but live the dreams you have at the time you have them.
Of course we can not just up and leave our jobs that make us miserable to go and hope on the next plan to Cancun, but we can enjoy what we have in our lives. We do not need to through away our happiness for future plans of money and fame. Many people work to afford to do what they love. Why do this? Why not do what you love as your work? We do have this luxury in our society to do this, we just need to let go of our fears and take a few more chances. Stop living your life with the idea of the end as your motives to go on each day. Start living your life with the idea of today as the motives to go on each day. The end that you look for will find you whether you search it out or not, so relax and enjoy the now.
